Scientist II – Biophysics experimentation

You are excited to develop novel approaches to sequencing DNA. As a hard-working scientist with a high attention to detail, you are comfortable setting up and carrying out experiments and working with DNA and proteins. Experience troubleshooting experiments is preferred.
 
Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will set up and execute experiments with a high degree of care and attention to detail, and organize results for interpretation.Display strong wetlab abilities in organizing experiments, implementing dilutions, creating buffers, and following detailed protocols.Aptitude to understand interactions between DNA and proteins.Ability to troubleshoot experiments when they are not working as you expect them to.Keep detailed lab notebooks, prepare reports, updates, and summaries for managers and team.

 
Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in biophysics, bioengineering, biochemistry, protein chemistry or related field.0-4 years work experience.Familiarity and comfort working with data collection systems, interpreting data sets, and troubleshooting experiments.Ability to clearly and concisely summarize data for interpretation by colleagues.Can-do attitude.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Highly collaborative team player.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Ability to maintain custom equipment (training will be provided).Previous lab experience working in a biochemistry or molecular biology setting.
