The Scientist II – Biochemistry and Analytical Chemistry for Cytiva is responsible for the optimization and scale up of processes related to membrane chromatography applications.
This position is part of the Bioprocess CTO organization located in Cytiva Pensacola and will be an on-site position. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery
What you will do:
+ Focus on testing, process optimization, and data analysis of new membrane technologies for current and future applications.
+ Performance evaluation of new membrane technologies, process optimization and scale up.
+ Perform chemical reactions of small molecules and polymerizations under minimal supervision.
+ Maintain accurate, organized data and detailed description of experiments in both, electronic and physical notebooks, being capable of clearly communicating data and observations orally and through presentation
+ Collaborate with other teams on development, manufacturing, applications, and technology transfer.
Who you are:
+ A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials (Membrane) Science, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry.
+ Detailed oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
+ Someone with good to strong knowledge of analytical techniques for characterization of organic molecules and polymers.
+ Someone with additional lab work experience in the form of internships, co-ops, or similar.
+ A reliable team player that is also able to work alone efficiently when needed.
+ A smart science-oriented fellow that backs up their talent with hard work!
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
+ Ability to travel for up to 10%
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Membrane testing (mechanical, flow, morphology and functional performance).
+ Surface chemistry.
+ Membrane modification.
+ Membrane coating.
+ Data analysis and good communication
