Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Cell and Gene Therapy team as a Field Application Scientist (FAS). This is an outstanding opportunity to be at the forefront of the rapidly growing field. As a FAS, you will play an important role in supporting the development and commercialization of cell-based therapies, such as CAR-T, to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Support

Act as the customer-facing technical authority, demonstrating outstanding knowledge of our products priorities and challenges in the space.Provide hands-on technical mentorship, workshops, demonstrations, and training sessions to customers.Conduct scientific seminars and facilitate round table discussions to exchange knowledge and effective methodologies.

Business EnablementDiscover new opportunities and identify gaps in our current portfolio by staying informed about market trends, helping us stay ahead in the industry.Serve as a liaison between customers and our internal R&D and product management teams, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.Collaborate closely with marketing teams to support new projects and build client-focused content.Exchange effective approaches with technical training teams from around the world to continuously improve our processes.

Experience:A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field is required.Prior experience of a minimum of 5 years is important with a strong understanding of the CAR-T cell manufacturing process, viral vector production, human stem cells, and stem cell-based therapies.Practical experience in culturing and differentiating stem cells for clinical manufacturing applications will be highly advantageous.Familiarity with closed system cell manufacturing platforms is strongly preferred, along with knowledge of the challenges involved in transitioning to clinical workflows.

Qualifications:Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively convey information to individuals at all levels within an organization and to customers.Demonstrate judgment, tact, and subtlety when interacting with customers and handling confidential information.Self-motivated, passionate and collaborative.Excel in customer-facing roles and enjoy working with cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions: This position involves working in both office and laboratory environments. Travel up to 50% of the time may be required to support customers and sales specialists.
