General Responsibilities

Showcase outstanding independent judgment and creativity in developing solutions.Coordinate and interact with various functional areas, departments, customers, and external collaborators.Network with senior personnel and collaborate with supervisors, group leaders, customers, and peers.Establish and maintain a flawless working climate adhering to safety, fire, hygiene, and regulatory standards.Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not exclusively:

Working in compliance with legislation and IMS (required for all)Participate as a scientist in development projects within Thermo Fisher Scientific or with partners.Work includesTheoretical analysis in the area of expertiseDeveloping (sub)system designs within multidisciplinary teams.Setup and execution of experiments to investigate detailed behaviour of designs or their implementation in Thermo Fisher Scientific systems.Assist in optimizing system-level performance (resolution, quality, efficiency, cost, …)Participate in collaborative projects with external partnersCommunication and documentation of own work through presentations and reports.Support (through active support and knowledge transfer) Thermo Fisher Scientific’s activities in operations, service, product management, and marketing.Lead small-sized study projectsImprove your technical knowledge related to Electron Microscopy.Generate novel ideas for improving Thermo Fisher Scientific XDB products. Build and test corresponding PoP or PoC prototypes.

Requirements:

Experience: Typically requires 2-7 years of experience.Education: Typically, a university degree is required, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.Senior knowledge in a technical, scientific or specialized field. Knowledge is normally acquired through professional or academic qualifications and on-the-job experience.Expert. Works on diverse objectives and problems where analysis of the situation or data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors. Requires good thinking and judgment to solve problems. Authority to act within defined policies under management oversight.Productive interactions with peers and networking with internal and external personnel.Able to apply strong analytical skills combined with good judgment to develop solutions to problems.Responsible for meeting objectives based on policies and subject to managerial review.Experienced professional with a full understanding of areas of specialization to creatively resolve a wide range of issues.
