Scope Program Supervisor
Job Description

Under general supervision oversees daily activities of Sterile Processing Scope Tech staff: Preparation, sterilization, storage and distribution of medical/surgical instruments, supplies and equipment in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.  Ensures that proper decontamination and distribution steps are taken for medical/surgical supplies, instruments and equipment handled by the scope service.  Maintains clinical scope equipment utilized throughout Perioperative Services or for services that maintain agreement for such services with Perioperative Services.

QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.Two-year Central Sterile Processing Technician, Surgical Technician, or Endoscopy Technician experience required.  Some work experience as lead or supervisor is preferred.Certification in CFER (Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor) required or obtained within 6 months of hire date.Certified in Sterile Processing from a recognized association including but not limited to; Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or National Institute for the Certification of Healthcare Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel (NICHSPDP).Attends yearly educational conferences relating to scope/instrument processing to stay current with ever changing industry standards.Additional Information
