Overview

As a Scrum Master, you will facilitate the delivery process, enabling the successful completion of projects within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to guide and support our development teams in adopting EMEA delivery best practices, ensuring efficient collaboration and value-driven delivery.

As a scrum master, you will have the responsibility to act as a liaison between the scrum team and the business/project manager, you will also have the responsibility to share your experience and knowledge with the team and promote the one way of work, leading by example in the realization of our ambition.  

The team’s key initiatives are focused on the delivery of integrated platforms across submission, rating, underwriting, policy admin and claims as well as providing enhanced data analytics and business intelligence. To support this transformation, the P&C IT team is growing to ensure and support the delivery of our systems to a high-quality standard and to enhance the engagement with the business. 

Responsibilities:

Act as a servant leader for the team, encouraging and fostering an environment of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. Facilitate all Scrum rituals including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospective meetings. Coach and mentor, development team members on Scrum principles and best practices to enhance their performance and self-organization. Remove any obstacles or impediments that hinder the team's progress and ensuring the completion of committed sprint goals. Maintain and update the team's tools and artifacts, including the product backlog, sprint backlog, and other related documentation. Work closely with project managers, business analysts and business to ensure the efficient utilization of the methodology while maintaining a balanced understanding of business priorities. Promote effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, fostering a strong sense of trust and accountability. Identify opportunities for process improvement and actively contribute to the implementation of EMEA IT best practices across the organization. Conduct regular assessments and performance evaluations to identify areas for growth and improvement within the Agile teams. Sharing knowledge and insights with the team and organization.

Qualifications  

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related fields  5+ years of work experience as a Scrum Master. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.Proven experience working as a Scrum Master, leading Agile development teams successfully.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions, manage conflicts, and drive decision-making processes.Proficiency in using Agile tools such as Jira.Experience in a software development environment or with technical projects is preferred.

Additional soft skills required:  

Familiarity with insurance industry business processes.  Confident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as needed.A passion for continuous improvement and an eagerness to foster an Agile mindset within the organization.Strong motivation.  Organizational skills, resourcefulness, and creativity.  Being team working oriented. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Flexibility, willingness to travel.  Fluent in English
