Scrum Product Owner
**Overview** **How You’ll Make an Impact** Epsilon’s Automotive team is looking for a Scrum Product Owner who will analyze complex business problems and serve as a liaison between business personnel and technical personnel. The Scrum Product Owner will translate input from clients, account teams, and program/product managers into user stories for implementation by one or more Scrum teams. The Scrum Product Owner will report to the Manager of Business Systems Analysis and will support all levels of stakeholders as needed to ensure correct interpretation and utilization of requirements for software solutions. Candidates for this position will have prior experience serving as Product Owner on a Scrum team. This is a hybrid role based in our San Diego, CA office. **What You’ll Achieve** + Work with the program/product manager, project manager, and project sponsor (any or all that are applicable) to document the requirements for new or changed functionality in automotive programs + Elicit requirements using interviews, existing documentation, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints + Decompose high level business and user requirements into user stories specified at an appropriate level of detail for use by those who must base their development and testing on the requirements + Define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements if applicable + Contribute to the establishment and implementation of effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process, and assist with the development of the organization's requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools + Answer functional questions posed by any project stakeholder + Demonstrate the ability to lead effective meetings, negotiate deliverables, and drive successful outcomes + Serve as Product Owner for one or more Scrum teams **Additional Deliverables:** + **Backlog Refinement:** + Drive products and features from concept to launch-ready in a fast-paced environment, empowering team members to help size and sequence work and define testing scenarios. + Translates Product Roadmap features into requirements and communicates needs to developers, including testable scenarios + Continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks + **Prioritized Product Backlog:** + Collaborate with Product Mgt to create an ordered backlog, keeping a balance of product and maintenance work within defined thresholds + Defines Product Goal(s) that align with Roadmap and Release Plans, empower development team to make decisions about their work + **Sprint Planning:** + Communicates the What and the Why of requests to developers + Collaborates on Sprint Goals with Developers and Scrum Master + **Acceptance of the work** + Actively reviews and accepts work from developers in a timely manner to finish defined work in the Sprint. + **Sprint Review:** + Communicates progress toward release plan, user/client insights into actions for Product Backlog, innovation and technology **Who You Are** + **What you’ll bring with you:** + Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements + Facilitation skills, to lead requirements elicitation work sessions + Observational skills, to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation + Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to all levels of project stakeholders + Organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information + Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders + Modeling skills, to represent requirements information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language + Proven experience as a Product Owner in an Agile software development environment + 3+ years’ experience as a business/requirements/systems analyst/product owner + Minimum 1 year of experience working with Scrum teams + Proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions with a customer-first mindset + Established background in launching software or services in an engineering environment + Understanding of Agile principles, mindset, and Product Owner role and accountabilities + **Why you might stand out from other talent:** + Software development experience preferred + Automotive and Retail experience a plus + Azure Dev Ops (ADO) and Confluence experience helpful + Scrum Foundations and Product Owner certification + Project Management Professional or Agile Certified Practitioner + Lean Change Management + Product Management such as Pragmatic or similar Pay Range: $70,600 - $105,800 Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon, but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location and application employment laws.
