Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business System Analyst (BSA) to join our team, specializing in Payroll and Statutory Reporting applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and compliance experts to analyze, design, and enhance payroll processing and statutory reporting systems. This role requires expertise and a deep understanding of payroll operations, tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirement Analysis & Documentation:
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to payroll processing and statutory reporting.
Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into detailed functional and system specifications.
System Design & Functional Support:
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure system design aligns with business requirements.
Work with Mainframe development teams to define data flows, batch processing, and system logic.
Support system enhancements and modernization efforts while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:
Ensure payroll applications adhere to local, state, and federal statutory requirements.
Support updates and audits related to statutory reporting (e.g., tax filings, labor law compliance, social security reporting).
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and compliance experts.
Facilitate discussions to bridge the gap between business needs and technical feasibility.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
2-8 years of experience as a Business System Analyst in Payroll and Statutory Reporting domains.
Preferred knowledge of Mainframe technologies (e.g., COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS).
Hands-on experience with payroll processing systems and statutory compliance reporting.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements like tax calculations, social security, and labor laws.
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret Mainframe code and data structures.
Experience working with payroll data, calculations, and reporting.
Strong SQL skills for data analysis and reporting.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Owns up the functional analysis of the statutory changes made by various US agencies and translate them into product specific requirements.
Deliverables include detailed analysis documents that maps the agency requirements to product requirements
Responsible for high quality deliverables on-time.
Great eye for detail.
Keeps up to date on emerging techniques
Works with highly demanding teams due to the nature of function, compliance.
Identifies, plans, and works on improvement areas for self and team.
Builds rapport and communicates with the statutory analysts for discussing the challenges.
Communicates the status update and risks on tasks (self and related team) to the project management.
Must be able to work well under pressure and have a strong understanding of business process, organizational readiness and change management
