As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects, working closely with our internal and external teams as well as coordinating with technical suppliers to successfully deliver projects in line with agreed scope, timelines, and budgets.
In addition, the role will lead, manage and coordinate 2 – 3 IT infrastructure and IT obsolescence-based projects, working closely with core infrastructure technical teams. Requirement to work with complex IT environments whilst working to various deadlines, delivering multiple projects. This role will be responsible for delivering 2-3 projects.
Please Note: This is an office based role where you will be required to work from our Head Office in Redhill, Surrey 3 days per week.
What you’ll be doing:
End to end project management from discovery to delivery ensuring that project deliverables are metHelp define project scope, functional and non-functional requirements, and deliverables.Use knowledge and experience to help drive the most appropriate project approach and methodology for projects in the portfolio with the focus being on accurate and timely delivery.Creation of project plans with appropriate milestones, defining tasks and allocating resourcesBuild, manage and lead the project teamCreation of effective communication plansTake responsibility for liaising with both technical and non-technical supplier resources to build effective working relationshipsOrganise and facilitate meetings with project team members and provide clear and effective feedbackManage budget, scope, and project schedule, tracking deliverables and reporting on project progress.Present reports to stakeholders on progress, including risks, issues, and suggested solutions regarding delivery.Identify scope-creep and ensure that change requests are raised and approved as appropriateManage the transition of the project into business-as-usual service as part of an agreed service transition plan.Evaluate and assess the results of the project which may include ‘lessons learned’ as well as benefits realization assessmentsDeal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk frameworkContribute to project management best practice and look for opportunities to continuously improveWhat we’re looking for:
Significant practical experience in a similar role with demonstrable experience of successfully delivering IT Infrastructure and obsolescence projects to time and budgetProven experience delivering projects using Agile and Waterfall MethodologiesProven experience and ability in dealing with staff at all levels of a similar sized organisation or largerGood understanding of IT service delivery is essentialBackground in Financial Services industry desirableProven experience delivering projects utilising internal, external, 3rd party and outsourced resources across a multi-sourced supply chain essentialExcellent written and verbal communications skillsExcellent emotional intelligence, influencing and collaboration skillsDemonstrated initiative and commitment for results and the ability to set priorities and manage multiple initiativesAbility to adjust to changing priorities whilst multitasking effectivelySolid work ethic with attention to detailQualifications
Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent
