Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist to join our team of high performing, diverse individuals. This position will be located at the Roy, UT campus. This position will be supporting the Strategic Deterrent System (SDS) Division.

Roles Responsibilities

The Procurement Specialist responsibilities will encompass:

Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliersInitiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliersIn conjunction with program and quality organizations, evaluates and monitors supplier performance to include quality, reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedulesWorks with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products requiredIdentifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiationsIssues purchase ordersManages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulationsEmploys sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activitiesEnsures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recordedReviews and approves supplier payment as neededUtilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist: 5 years of relative experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 3 years of relevant experience with a master's degree, and 1 year of experience with a PhD. 4 years of additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Sr. Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist: 8 years of relative experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 6 years of relevant experience with a master's degree, and 4 year of experience with a PhD. 4 years of additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Required for Both Levels:

Must have US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD secret security clearanceProfessional experience in supply chain management, or related fields, to include logistics, manufacturing/project management, business management, leadership, or information systemsDemonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiencesProficiency in MS Office suiteStrong verbal and written communication skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, TelecommunicationsExperience managing supplier performanceExperience with FAR/DFARSExperience with ERP systems, preferably SAP  

Salary Range: $71,600.00 - $107,400.00Salary Range 2: $89,100.00 - $133,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
