Mental and Visual Effort
In order to operate the Sub Arc Seamer considerable and careful mental and visual attention must be exercised in order to prevent scrap, downtime, or operational inefficiencies. Any significant amount of downtime has the potential to bring the entire operation to a halt. Additionally, not producing quality parts creates rework and undue machine wear on the downstream operations.
Responsibility for Equipment and Process
+ Welding a pole improperly can lead to scrap greater than $2,300 or create excessive seam repair.
+ Operators must be in tune with the equipment in order to catch issues prior to them occurring. Downtime in the cell can create excessive losses in efficiency on the line and repair costs in excess $5,000 for minor failures up to $10,000 or more for major failures.
Responsibility for Material or Product
(This involves the probability and extent of damage to our loss of material or products as a result of the actions of a worker. Material or product is that which is being worked upon and may include parts, raw materials, fuels, acids, oils, gas. Consider necessary care required to prevent shortages, loss of material, rechecks. We need to indicate the care required and the probable monetary replacement loss from one single loss. Address if you are talking about an average loss or a maximum loss.)
Responsibility for Safety of Others
Incumbents must demonstrate a commitment to safety through excellent safety practices and behaviors and conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures. Incumbents will also be expected to actively participate in department lean activities and working in a team environment.
