Search Engine Optimization Specialist

Job Description:

As an SEO Specialist II, you will play a critical role in improving the company’s search engine visibility and driving organic traffic across B2B, B2C, and Public Sector audiences. Working independently with general guidance, you will be responsible for executing technical SEO, on-page SEO strategies, and delivering regular performance reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented, data-driven individual with a solid understanding of SEO best practices and tools.

What you’ll do:

Technical SEO:

Conduct regular technical SEO audits and resolve issues related to site speed, crawl errors, indexation, and mobile usability. Ensure proper site architecture, URL structure, and XML sitemaps are in place to maximize search engine visibility. Monitor Core Web Vitals and partner with web teams to maintain passing scores.

On-Page SEO:

Optimize content for relevant keywords by managing title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, and internal linking strategies. Ensure all on-page elements align with SEO standard methodologies and support the overall search strategy.

Keyword Research & Strategy:

Perform keyword research to identify opportunities for organic growth. Develop and implement content strategies that target high-value keywords and enhance website relevance for both users and search engines.

Content Optimization & Collaboration:

Collaborate with content creators and marketing teams to ensure all content is SEO-optimized. Provide recommendations on keyword usage, formatting, and structure to improve rankings, engagement and conversion.

Link Building & Off-Page SEO:

Assist in developing strategies for acquiring high-quality backlinks through partnerships, content outreach, and relationship building. Monitor the company’s backlink profile and make recommendations for improvement.

SEO Reporting & Analytics:

Track and report on SEO performance using tools such as Adobe Analytics, Search Console, and third-party SEO platforms. Provide insights on organic traffic, rankings, and conversion trends. Make data-driven recommendations to improve overall SEO performance.

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)Strategy and Implementation:

Support the development and execution of strategies to optimize the company’s visibility within large language model (LLM) search interfaces and AI-driven results. This includes understanding and applying GEO best practices to align content structure, metadata, and semantic SEO elements that improve the company's relevance and presence in AI-generated search outputs. Collaborate with content, data, and technical teams to monitor performance and adjust strategies to ensure sustained presence in evolving generative search environments

Stay Up-to-Date with SEO Trends:

Monitor industry trends and algorithm updates to keep the company’s SEO strategies current. Recommend and implement changes to stay competitive in search engine rankings.

Participate in ongoing development of strategy and programs to develop appropriate presence in AI search platforms. Continue to monitor developments in the AI space as platforms drive more organic traffic.

Experience you’ll bring:

Experience using SEO tools such as Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc.

Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau and Adobe Analytics.

Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic understanding of JavaScript in relation to SEO.

Ability to perform keyword research and use data to inform content strategies.

Solid attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Superb communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams.

Analytical mentality with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

Requirements:

3-5 years of hands-on SEO experience, with a strong understanding of both technical and on-page SEO.

Travel Requirements:

While Pluralsight operates under a remote and hybrid work model, we believe that in-person connection and collaboration are important. Recurring travel to our HQ in Utah may be required depending on the role and team member location.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $59,700 - $73,700 USD. Pluralsight's pay ranges vary based on work location. Talent Acquisition can share more detail during the hiring process when applicable. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. In addition to the base salary, this role may also be eligible for benefits and bonuses.
