Location: Meriden Corps (Meriden, CT)

Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour

 

Scope & Purpose of Position: Will provide driving support for all of the holiday programs, which includes Angel Tree, Holiday Store, Adopt-a-Family, Kettle Campaign, etc.

Responsibilities Dress neatly and interact with the public in a professional manner. Communicate all barriers and issues directly to the supervisor(s).Complete a timecard each day.Complete the required 12-passenger van training and maintain all appropriate knowledge to drive and maintain.Practice safe driving habits and follow all state and national safety regulations and standards.Drive as requested during the holiday season and run general kettle season errands.Load and unload holiday items such as food, clothing, and toys as requested.Assist with pick-ups and drop-offs of seasonal kettle employees and volunteers.Distribute and collect kettle stands and signs to locations as requested.Keep the interior of the vehicle clean of debris and clutter. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, can drive a 12-passenger van, and pass the required driving test.Ability to drive in inclement weather, such as light snow.Ability to adapt to changing schedules and routines, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed and be both reliable and punctual.Ability to follow safe work practices.Ability to follow written and oral instructions while communicating closely with supervisors.Ability to perform duties independently with minimal need of direct supervision.Strong customer service and time management skills.Must possess a positive and professional attitude.Must complete KeepSAfe and other training requirements upon hire.Will respect and promote the interest of The Salvation Army.
