Do you like to dive into history and share that knowledge with others? Here’s your chance! Join the Wyoming State Parks team for a unique summer at Trail End State Historic Site! Located atop a hill near downtown Sheridan, Trail End offers a glimpse into life between 1913 and 1933, seen mainly through the eyes of the mansion’s original owners, the John B. Kendrick family. The site is seeking enthusiastic seasonal workers to work in the museum, greeting visitors and educating the public. The employment period is typically from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Some seasonal positions may begin earlier in the year and/or extend longer into the fall. Please refer to the Essential Functions for more detailed information about job duties. Watch our recruitment video here: Human Resource Contact: stacy.sprengeler@wyo.gov , 307-777-7010 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. + Greet visitors, collect admission fees, and deliver excellent customer service. + Answer visitor questions and provide educational interpretation of the site. + Handle monetary transactions, which include fee collection, weekly fee reports, and gift shop sales. + Responsible for cash register reconciliation. + Assist with reports and data entry. + Perform opening and closing duties, and cleaning as needed. + Answer a multi-line telephone system transferring calls to appropriate personnel. + Assist all Absaroka District sites with special projects and events. Qualifications PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: For all seasonal positions, preference will be given to applicants who are professional and have excellent customer service skills. **Must have a valid driver's license. **Must be at least 16 years of age. KNOWLEDGE: + Must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with visitors from different cultures. + Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough in completing assignments/tasks. + Experience in handling money, cash registers, and retail sales. + Willingness to work on a variety of assignments every day. + Ability to handle multiple groups of visitors at once. + Capability to learn and retain information quickly. + Ability to manage and complete projects with variable timelines and scopes of work.
