About Sterling Vineyards
Internationally known, Sterling Vineyards is one of the most visited wineries in Napa Valley. Modeled after a Greek monastery, the winery sits 300 feet above the valley floor where visitors take an aerial tram to access the top-quality Bordeaux varietals and majestic 360-degree views of Napa Valley. Closed in September 2020 following the Glass Fire that affected much of the area, Sterling reopened to guests in October 2023 complete with a new gondola system, re-imagined visitor spaces and a fresh take on Napa Valley hospitality.
About the role
This hospitality-centric role supports the 7-day operation of the aerial gondola by warmly welcoming guests while maintaining their safe transportation to and from the winery through close partnership with the maintenance team.
The Seasonal Gondola Attendant is responsible for the safety of our employees and visitors as the load and unload the gondola. This role requires great customer service, as the gondola provides the first interaction with 100,000+ visitors annually. The Seasonal Gondola Attendant supports the maintenance team and must pass a certification on basic Gondola Operation Mechanics. Open and close the gondola with support of the mechanic team. Maintain the cleanliness of all gondola cars. The Gondola Attendant must be trained in van driving, gondola evacuations, as well as A.D.A. compliance. Provide services to Sterling Vineyards Hospitality department, when help is needed. Cultivate ideas, implement process change to increase efficiencies, improve safety and reduce costs. Heavy involvement in Gondola Evacuation vacation drills and will be provided training according to ANSI Aerial Gondola standards. Ensure Sterling team adheres to all TWE Zero Harm and Health & Safety standards and provide all necessary training. Work with onsite maintenance team to ensure all guest facing areas are well presented, including equipment, landscaping and building interior/exteriors. Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws regarding alcoholic beverages service Complete projects and other duties as directed by the AHSM and Maintenance Manager.

You have excellent English written and verbal communication skills to communicate with all levels of employees and consumers You have strong interpersonal skills You have a clean professional appearance Must be at least 21 years of age You have a valid California Driver’s License and proof of good driving record You are able to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays You are able to complete Van Training, Evacuation Training, as well as Operator Certification upon hire. You are able to work outdoors in any weather condition You are able to lift 40 pounds

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $21 to $26 per hour plus bonus. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of Calistoga, CA. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
