Job Overview

The Seasonal Light Show Technician assists Macy’s Parade Studio with the installation and removal of the Christmas Light Show. The setup of the show involves a 4-night installation, taking place after store hours (e.g., 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.). The load-out occurs over 3 nights, with all work also scheduled after store hours.

 

What You Will Do

Assist Parade Studio with the installation of show props, including truss and rigging. Perform heavy lifting as needed.

 

Skills You Will Need

Technical Skills: Proficiency in the installation of show props, including truss and rigging. Experience in construction or theater tech is preferred.

Heavy Lifting: Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for the setup and removal of the light show.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong skills in interacting with team members and effectively communicating.

Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Multitasking: Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Professionalism: Ability to present a professional image consistent with Macy’s brand values.

 

Who You Are

This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 75 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs.
