Non-benefited, No Guarantee of Hours. Job Summary: This position supports the daily operation of the Umpqua Lighthouse gift store, primarily by performing retail sales. Essential Functions: This is not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties or functions associated with the job. + Provide customer service to Lighthouse gift shop visitors. + Perform sales of merchandise. + Stock merchandise. + Assist with general upkeep of gift shop. POSITION REQUIREMENTS SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: This is not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties or functions associated with the job. Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required, will be considered. however, the following is preferred: + High school graduation or equivalency supplemented with experience in customer service and working in an office setting Desirable qualifications: Experience working in a retail setting and processing cash/credit/debit sales. Required: + Regular and consistent attendance In addition, applications will receive further evaluation based on reasonable knowledge of general retail practices and procedures; keyboarding; and basic math skills. Skill in : typing accurately at a speed required by the position; operating basic office equipment, including but not limited to operation of a multi-line telephone; reiterating information verbally. Ability to : organize, file and retrieve materials and documents; add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers, common fractions and decimals; communicate effectively in both oral and written form, manage time efficiently while exercising initiative and judgment in completing tasks and responsibilities; understand and follow directions, demonstrate attention to detail, solve practical problems, maintain records and/or reports; maintain confidentiality; work independently or as part of a team; and courteously meet and deal effectively with other employees and the public. SCREENING & EVALUATION Work is performed in a retail environment. Work is generally sedentary; however, requires bending, speaking, hearing voice conversation, keyboarding, kneeling, working with hand-held devices, lifting materials up to 30 pounds, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing or sitting for long periods of time, viewing computer monitor screens, and walking up and downstairs.
