Job Description:
Field AidesIn this role, you will be responsible for:
Conducting mosquito surveillance in county ditches and other water sources.
Treating the ditches with environmentally safe larvicide by use of truck-mounted equipment.
Laboratory AidesIn this role, you will be responsible for:
Conducting mosquito surveillance by setting and collecting mosquito traps.
Identifying adult mosquitoes using microscopes.
Working with our sentinel chicken program.
Occasional data entry.
Mosquito-borne Disease Surveillance AideIn this role, you will be responsible for:
Mosquito-borne Disease Surveillance
Collection of specialized traps and sampling chicken sentinels
Inspection of all types of mosquito habitats
Pesticide applications
Work Hours:
Seasonal/Temporary, 05/08/2025 - 11/26/2025
Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (no weekends!)
Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
About YouMinimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Valid Florida Driver’s License by start date.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
