Retail Holiday Team Member - Seasonal

Summary

By joining our seasonal team, you’ll take part in sharing holiday cheer and goodwill with our guests and fellow team members. ** NOTE: Our 2023 Holiday season begins October 2023 and continues through January 4th, 2024.  Seasonal Team Members who work all assigned holiday shifts, which include the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve, are eligible for a one-time paid bonus of $300. This bonus is paid in addition to hourly compensation. It will be prorated for employees who start after the holiday season begins. As a Seasonal Team Member, you may be scheduled for morning, daytime, or evening shifts any day of the week, Monday through Sunday. We will work with your schedule as best as possible. Part-time positions of under 30 hours per week are available at select ABC locations.

Seasonal Temporary Team Members may be eligible to become ongoing Team Members of ABC should there be a need for post-holiday staffing.

Responsibilities

Seasonal team members may do some or all the following, depending on store needs:

Share holiday cheer and goodwill with our fellow team members and guests.Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and assisting all guests, answering questions, recommending products, and locating items in-store or at a nearby ABC location.Assist guests in taking their purchases to their vehicle.Create gift baskets as needed, wrapping with enthusiasm, attention to detail and creativity.Operate a point-of-sale terminal to process guest transactions, involving basic cash handling and applying coupons or discounts in accordance with company policy (trained staff only).Unload delivery trucks, if needed, depending on schedule.Assist in stocking the store, including shelves and coolers.Keep the store clean through box breakdown, light trash removal, and light cleaning duties (sweep, mop, keep bathrooms clean and supplied).Covid-19 specific cleaning duties, if assigned, throughout store.Deliver products to curbside pickup parking spots as needed to guests in their cars.

Arrive for shifts on time and ready to work. Shifts may vary and are usually scheduled between the hours of 11 AM – 7 PM, 12 PM – 8 PM, and/or 3 PM – 10 PM.Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Experience, Skills, and Education

21 years of age or over.Schedule flexibility with the ability to work weekends, holidays and/or nights.Must present a neat and professional appearance, abiding by the ABC dress code and earring/tattoo policy.Retail experience or customer service experience desirable, but not required.Positive attitude is a must.Flexibility in daily job tasks is essential.Able to interact with guests and other team members professionally and courteously.Must pass company-issued background screening prior to hire.

Physical Requirements

Frequently lift and/or transport up to 25 pounds throughout the store.Stoop, lift, stretch, bend, and move during shift for store tasks.Remain standing for long periods, upwards of 8 hours at a time, and frequently move throughout the store, including stockrooms and backrooms on premises.Operate a computer sales terminal and frequently handle or touch products, money and/or any object located within store property (performed by trained staff only).Occasionally ascend and descend ladders and step stools to safely access stockroom and floor shelves as needed.A person in this position frequently communicates to guests, team members, and any other persons who may enter the premises and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Work Environment

ABC retail locations are busy store environments where interaction with people and products throughout the store are required.Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Occasionally exposed to working in high, precarious places in the store or stockroom were accessing ladders and step stools are necessary.Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions when maintaining the property and assisting guests is necessary.Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles when utilizing cleaning solutions or supplies is necessary.  Occasionally exposed to refrigerated temperatures between 32-41º F when stocking and/or retrieving product in the cooler is necessary.
