Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Research Assistant - Projects, Home Support Billing is responsible for the statistical collection and reporting of program data relating to Home Support billing and contracted agencies. Using a variety of computer programs and data bases, the Research Assistant - Projects, Home Support Billing performs duties such as providing, analyzing and evaluating financial billing data and reports; administrative and project management support; maintaining filing systems and computer directories for storage and retrieval of statistical and financial billing information; responding to requests for complex and non-routine statistical and financial billing reports; designing and maintaining queries from various computer information systems. The Research Assistant - Projects, Home Support Billing will act as an administrative resource in coordination with the HCC Management team in the development of corporate publications and presentation materials relating to internal billing and audit processes to verify home support hours and payments that meet the Ministry of Health and VIHA billing regulation changes. Provides software training and support for Home & Community Care users.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperiencePost secondary education equivalent to two years including courses such as accounting or bookkeeping courses, research methods and statistical analysis, project management, data collection, report writing, computer operating systems such as windows, and advanced use of word processing, project management, web site maintenance design, data base and spreadsheet software. Three years experience recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills And Abilities Skill in the advanced use of computer operating systems and software packages as described above including project management, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Ability to type 50 wpm. Ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to demonstrate and instruct others in the use of software common to the organization. Ability to problem-solve minor equipment problems such as with printers and scanners. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts utilizing interpersonal skills such as diplomacy, empathy and tact. Ability to monitor and implement various work projects and assignment with limited supervision. Ability to maintain sustained attention to detail.
