Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to site fully on-site in Schenectady, NY. They will be responsible for electrical design drawings, researching technical specifications, and developing modern hardware solutions for critical test infrastructure. Other work tasks include performing assembly and fabrication inspections, participating in production meetings, developing and reviewing cost estimates, performing hardware integration evaluations, and interfacing with electrical lab coordinators, engineering technicians, and vendors. Team members perform a mix of hands-on work in a laboratory environment where products are designed, prototyped, and tested as well as office-based work to design and author documentation.
$35-60/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a Science related degree
Engineering experience with electrical hardware design, programmable logic, analog or digital circuit design, testing electronics or software, or integrating embedded systems.
Experience with AutoCAD
Working knowledge of electronics lab practices, construction & debugging of digital & analog circuits using common lab tools and instruments (meters, scopes, analyzers). null
