Summary You will serve as a SECRETARY (OA) in the NAVAL WEAPONS STATION EARLE of NAVAL WEAPONS STATION EARLE. Responsibilities You will provide clerical and administrative assistance to the CO/XO and staff with responsibility for performing a variety of clerical, administrative, and other non-technical duties. You will receive all visitors and telephone calls to the CO/XO. You will be responsible for the preparation of military fitness reports and military awards, civilian length of service awards, retirement awards and letters. You will make arrangements for travel, and submit travel vouchers and reports. You will review correspondence and documents prepared for signature of or requiring coordination by the CO/XO for conformance with regulations, grammar, format, and special policies of the command working closely with the Administrative Officer (AO). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Composing correspondence with proper grammar, spelling, capitalization, and format in accordance with procedural and administrative procedures; 2) Identifying deficiencies in and/or recommending changes to administrative and clerical procedures; 3) Responding to non-technical requests for information; 4) Utilizing a travel system to make travel arrangements and process claims in accordance with travel regulations; 5) Managing office supplies by requisitioning needed equipment and services.
