An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sensors Section Leader to join our EC&I sub-systems Department at Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby.
The EC&I Sub-systems department supports the design and delivery of the reactor control and instrumentation, power systems, commissioning documentation and plant sensor equipment for SSNA.
You will be involved in leading SSNA sensors programme of work and supporting a section of 7 engineers with headcount to grow to deliver on time products and design outputs. Working with the supply chain, the shipbuilder, teams within the department closely to ensure quality products and design outputs are delivered to the customer on time.
Mechanical and electrical leaders from a broad range of equipment design and support backgrounds would be considered and specific product-based training will be provided.

What you will be doing:
You will be leading the SSNA sensors section, supporting the SSNA programme.
Leading the delivery of work packages across the SSNA programme to agreed time and costsManaging a section of 7 engineers with headcount to growLeading the design development of several new sensor products to support the SSNAUKUS programmeLeading the response to rectifying build and commission sensors equipment defects/requests for technical information involving some occasional on-site workLeading the production of build and commissioning documentationLeading the evaluation of the safety and integrity of the sensor’s productsLeading the production of safety case design documentation to support the safe operation of the plantEnsuring process adherence and appropriate governance is applied to all design led activities.Perform the role of SCRUM master in managing the team’s day to day activities in line with the wider plan.Who we are looking for:

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
