What You'll Do
BCG's Industrial Goods practice area (IG PA) is divided into three sectors: Materials & Process Industries (MPI) - the largest IG PA sector, Automotive & Mobility (A&M), and Engineered Products & Industrial Technology (EPT).
The MPI sector consists of seven segments: Agribusiness, Building Materials, Chemicals, Forest Products – Pulp – Paper – Packaging, Metals, Mining and Industrial Distribution & Recycling.
As Sector Manager – Materials & Process Industries you will support the sector strategy, translate it to concrete initiatives and drive implementation with senior stakeholders and peers. A key emphasis of the role will be on the growth agenda for MPI in North America. You will become an integral and influential contributor to the growth of one of BCG’s largest sectors.
More specifically, activities will include but are not limited to:
Sector strategy: support the Sector Leader and their leadership team in strategy development and execution, including target clients, focus areas, and white space opportunities for the NAMR region, in addition to a subset of MPI segments.Strategy implementation: Develop agendas and materials for leadership team calls and meetings; Project Management Office (PMO) execution of leadership initiativesPeople: Develop the people plan and facilitate implementation, including, lateral hiring, mobility, expertise management, diversityAffiliation: Organize sector meetings and calls, develop agendas, prepare key presentations, and drive internal communications. Manage and maintain sector affiliation data.Expertise: Support selected BD opportunities, e.g. with external expertsPlanning and Reporting: Support the annual planning process, and selectively drive business analytics and metrics throughout the yearKnowledge Management: Work closely with the sector leadership and the IG Vantage Team to align on top commercial priorities to ensure key commercial materials are up-to-date and accessible.Overarching: Identify, conceptualize and drive improvement initiatives in the sector; facilitate best-practice sharingYOU'RE GOOD AT

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree with strong academic achievements preferredAt least x years industry experience or x years consulting experienceSignificant BCG experience preferred, ideally in PA Management or on the Consulting Team (equivalent to Consultant)Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishWho You'll Work With
As a Sector Manager within BCG’s Industrial Goods Practice Area (PA), you will work closely with, the global MPI Sector Leader, the Global MPI Business Development Director and the global MPI Leadership Team.
For daily business, you will collaborate with the IG-MPI Sector Coordinator, IG Regional Managers, Marketing, People Managers, Practice Area Coordinators, and other global IG Sector Managers within the Industrial Goods Practice.
Further collaboration with other global and regional BCG functions occurs as needed.
