JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Community Outreach and Events Manager supports the Safeguarding the Entire Community of the U.S. Research Ecosystem (SECURE) Center's mission by managing regional co-creation activities and community engagement efforts. Identifies, cultivates, and fosters relationships with community partners and stakeholders to support the Center's priorities and initiatives. Cultivates and fosters stakeholder relationships. Engages with regional stakeholders, including participants in regional co-design activities, to foster ongoing, productive associations that support the SECURE Center's design and development initiatives. Fosters relationships with community partners to enhance the SECURE Center's visibility and mission. Implements national community engagement strategies regionally, aligning with regional needs and broader SECURE Center goals. Engages stakeholders in discovery, design, and testing processes, contributing to the development of impactful solutions. Develops and implements strategies for engaging and marketing programs/initiatives on the National and Regional level furthering the mission and vision of the SECURE Center. Enhances the SECURE Center's regional presence and mission. Provides logistical and operational support to regional teams and events, ensuring seamless collaboration, effective communication, and alignment with center-wide objectives. Develops communication materials and designs content to promote Center initiatives. Manages logistics, planning, scheduling, and execution of meetings, workshops, virtual, and other events for the Regional Center ensuring smooth collaboration, effective communication, and alignment with the Center's goals. Works with vendors and communicates with participants. May prepare and manage meeting agendas, documentation, and tracking outcomes to completion. Maintains information on selected contacts including contact reports in CRM system.Maintains records in CRM system for regional contacts as part of a national CRM system. Notes contact's level of participation as a community member and/or a stakeholder. Provides regular updates and reports to the National Community Manager. Onboards and trains new team members utilizing best practices and National guidelines. Some travel is required. Performs related responsibilities as required.ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) announced a five-year, investment establishing the Safeguarding the Entire Community of the U.S. Research Ecosystem (SECURE) Center. The national SECURE Center grant will encompass five regional hubs, to fund SECURE Southeast, to be managed by Emory University. The SECURE Center will share information and reports on research security risks, provide training on research security to the science and engineering community and serve as a bridge between the research community and government funding agencies to strengthen cooperation on addressing security concerns.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in communications, business, or a related field and three years of experience in community engagement, event coordination, project management, or a related area.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates will possess experience managing projects, events, working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, database, online communications, and project management software, and CRM systems.Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, the ability to work with ambiguity, and navigate a complex work environment. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.Familiarity with change management strategies. Commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment and integrating diverse perspectives.NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.
