Securities Operations Specialist

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Operations Specialist as part of the National Wire Administration team within Wealth and Investment Management Operations. This team is responsible for operations of trust side of money movement and entails executing client-directed wire transfers. In this role, you will:

Participate in low to moderately complex lifecycle support initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements within Securities OperationsReview and analyze basic or tactical functional operational tasks or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives; exercise independent judgment related to low-to-medium risk deliverablesPresent recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations related to a full process within a trade environment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirementsProvide information to, collaborate, and consult with peers, colleagues and managers, including internal and external customers, to resolve issues and achieve goalsDevelop expertise in the following operational processes including client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, and general ledger reconciliationResolve low to moderately complex escalated issues within the scope of responsibility in Security OperationsResearch low to moderately complex business risks, provide input into policies, enhance customer satisfaction, and review time sensitive documents and transaction requestsExercise independent judgment in understanding trade settlement and payment workflow controls to minimalize the effects of operational breakdownsSupport overall effectiveness of the team according to plans; monitor daily securities and cash related production workContribute and may lead implementation of projects, new or revised processes, and procedures that require coordination among operation teams and perform analysis for initiatives that support business strategies making decisions on matters with financial impact and riskPerform low to moderately complex data analysis to support and drive strategic initiatives and business needsDevelop an understanding of technical systems and business processes to extract data driven insights while identifying opportunities for engineering enhancementsPerform analysis of findings and trends using statistical and/or financial analysis, modeling, process documentation, profitability analysis, customer/demographic analysis, etc.Develop customized reports and ad hoc analyses to make recommendations and provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staffAssist in implementing Data Quality Controls across dimensions (Accuracy, Completeness etc.)


Required Qualifications:

2+ years of Securities Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

2+ years of Wealth and Investment Management experience1+ year of Operational Risk, Change Management and/or Quality Assurance experienceExperience with RCSA process for implementing and managing system data expected output controlsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience in gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets and aptitude for synthesizing data to 'form a story'Ability to identify in efficiencies and opportunities to improve the processExcellent communication skills and ability to convey complex topics in an easy to understand mannerWork closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on reporting solutions for continuous improvementExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills
