Security, Dual Rate Supervisor - Full Time, Nights

Position Summary:

Assist in supervision of Security Officers, Security Field Training Officers, Card and Dice Inspectors, Dispatchers, EMT’s, EMT Field Training Officers on assigned shifts and Doorpersons in Nightclub.  Adhere to MGC regulations and property internal controls. 

Job Description:

Ensure the safety and security of Harrah’s NKC employees, guests and property. Enforce Harrah’s policies and procedures to include the rules and regulations of the Missouri Gaming Commission. Respond to request for assistance from Missouri Gaming Commission agents and/or other commissioned law enforcement officers in the performance of their official duties. Report improper or illegal or suspected improper or illegal acts by Harrah’s North Kansas City employee to the Security Manager and the Missouri Gaming Commission. Ensure all incident reports are accurate, complete and technically sufficient. Administers training programs for assigned personnel that will ensure effective security of gaming and money handling experience.  Performs the function of hiring, training, and developing employee’s skills; reviewing employee’s performance and administering discipline. Responsible for escort gaming chips and cash. Administer minor first aid when required. Responsible for the escorting of Soft drops. Responsible for the day to day activities of VooDoo. Must be able to wand all patrons and inspect bags upon guests entering casino/VooDoo. Checks to make sure patron identification meets necessary age requirements for entry into casino/VooDoo. Patrols VooDoo to preserve order among patrons and protect property. May circulate among patrons to prevent improper dancing or similar activities, and to detect persons annoying other patrons or damaging furnishing of establishment. Warn patrons guilty of infractions and contact Security if they become unruly. May perform a dual rate function; refer to Chapter A, standard 1.06 for dual rate guidelines.

The term “management” includes duties such as interviewing; training; selecting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing the work of employees; maintaining production; appraising employees’ productivity and efficiency for purposes of recommending promotions or other changes (evaluations); handling employees’ grievances and complaints; disciplining employees; planning work; providing for safety and security; and monitoring or implementing legal compliance matters.

Knowledge, Skills & Education Preferred:          

HS Diploma or equivalent.  Must be physically able to restrain combative customers and to move about the property.  Effective communication (written and verbal).  Need tact when dealing with difficult customers. Two to Five years security experience or Military Service.  Two years of supervisory experience. 

 Physical Requirements:

Able to walk, work and stand, inside and outside, occasionally in heat in excess of 115 degrees or cold in excess of 10 degrees.  Able to physically restrain adults in excess of 200 pounds.  Able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.  Able to work independently.  Able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip and carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.  Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.  Able to respond to visual and aural cues.  Able to speak, read and understand English.  Able to see and also remember the specific details of incidents and persons.  Must be able to make rational decisions when handling guests and employees.  Ability to tolerate area’s containing secondary smoke. Must be able to bend, twist, turn, squat and rotate body.  Must be able to lift above the head occasionally.  Run on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs. Read, write, speak and understand English. Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations. Must be able to write legible for accurate report documentation.

Licensing and Certification Required:

Employees may be required to obtain a Missouri Gaming Commission license.  The initial license is paid for by the employee through payroll deduction.  All subsequent renewals for the license are paid by Harrah’s North Kansas City.
