Security Analyst
Position Description:

This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing team of information security experts as we transform, enhance, and expand the security program for one of the largest information technology providers in the world. You will join the United States Global Technology Operations (US GTO) Security Strategy and Solutions team supporting governance, risk, and compliance consulting services as well as security service delivery across one or more US-based industries. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of current security practices as well as the ability to identify and apply legal, regulatory, and industry-specific security requirements. responsible for ensuring the organization's information security posture by performing various security-related tasks, including change request analysis, security audit support, managing Security Operations Center (SOC) escalations, developing Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs), and validating and analyzing security monitoring and alert data from various security tools.

This role can be located at any CGI Office in the U.S., but the preferred location is Sacramento, CA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

1. Change Request Analysis: Review and analyze change requests to identify potential security risks and impacts. Provide recommendations and guidance to ensure compliance with security policies and standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure implementation of changes.
5. Security Audit Support: Assist in preparing for and supporting internal and external security audits. Gather and analyze relevant security data and documentation for audit purposes. Coordinate with auditors and stakeholders to address findings and recommendations.
9. Security Operations Center (SOC) Escalation Management: Manage and respond to security incidents escalated from the SOC. Triage and prioritize incidents based on severity and potential impact. Coordinate with relevant teams to investigate and remediate security incidents.
13. Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) Development: Develop and maintain POAMs to address identified security vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Track and monitor POAM implementation progress and ensure timely resolution. Provide regular updates and reports on POAM status to relevant stakeholders.

Security Monitoring and Alert Analysis: Validate and analyze security monitoring and alert data from the following tools: AWS GuardDuty Splunk Enterprise Security Burp Suite Pro (PortSwigger) Sophos Qualys Compliance Qualys VMDR Microfocus Fortify Other virus, malware, and end point protection software. Identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities. Implement appropriate remediation measures and provide recommendations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, application development, and project management.
• Communicate security risks, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Participate in security awareness and training initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in information security or a related field.
• Strong understanding of security principles, techniques, and best practices.
• Familiarity with security tools such as AWS GuardDuty, McAfee MVision, Splunk Enterprise Security, Burp Suite Pro (PortSwigger), Sophos, Qualys Compliance, Qualys VMDR, and Microfocus Fortify.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Must be based in proximity to a CGI office.


Preferred Qualifications

Additional industry recognized certifications in information security (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS/GIAC certifications, etc.)

• Experience in information security testing (e.g., penetration testing, web application security assessments, vulnerability assessments and technical security assessments
• Secure SDLC, Agile, or DevOps experience
• Experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• Experience in virtualized security environments
• Experience with security vendors providing cloud-based IAM, data protection, security monitoring, and security-related SaaS offerings
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating system administration
• Experience with application development
• Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Desire to work in an information systems environment
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Excellent leadership and management skills





“CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $49,400 - $142,400.”
