Job Description Summary:
The Security Assistant 2 position requires in-depth knowledge of the Commercial Background Investigation (CBI) process, Defense Information Security System (DISS), and Security Information Management System (SIMS) database where accuracy and attention to detail is required. Additional daily functions include contractor badging, coordinating and executing security briefings, processing incoming and outgoing classified visits and assisting the Personnel Security (PERSEC) team with processing clearance applications. Assists with highly visible Visitor Service Center administration to include access control, badging and ensuring security policies. Serves as the back-up for the security receptionist and demonstrates exceptional customer service and professionalism.Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Coordinate the day-to-day operations of Draper’s Personnel Security function for contractors and consultants to include all badging actions.
Manage the new hire and termination processes to include security briefings, badging and data entry.
Responsible for all badging actions to include: executing required paperwork, taking badge photos, printing and programming badges.
Review and ensure compliance of the Background Investigation program for all contractors. Monitor expiring contracts and notify contractors of renewals, terminations and badge requests.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of Draper’s Personnel Security function for employees, contractors and consultants to include security briefings, badging actions and other related tasks.
Complete and perform incoming and outgoing classified visits in DISS or successor system while maintaining accuracy
Assist, collect, and review personal documents to establish identity and employment verification.
Provides daily back-up coverage for security receptionist to include: daily visitor check-in, badge issuance, verify acceptable documentation is on file, answer general visitor questions, and maintain visitor records of arrival and departure using security databases and the visitor management system (VMS).
Skills/Abilities
Proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to be service oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
A Self-starter, and work well with all levels of management and staff.
Organized with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Some knowledge of business software such as DSX, DISS/NBIS, SIMs, NISS, and SWFT.
Some knowledge of government policies such as 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Security, Criminal Justice, or related field is preferred.
Experience
6+ months to a year of relevant experience in industrial security, personnel security, or visitor management is required.
Additional Job Description:
Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Current in scope Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
