The Security and Background Clearance Internship is one discipline of IDEMIA North America’s 12-week Summer Internship Program. The intern is an integral part of the security team and acts as the technical assistant for various projects creating solutions that meet customer needs relating to implementation, testing and maintenance. The intern will assist in the review and processing of security clearance applications for employees and contractors.

 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Work closely with the security team to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policiesMaintain confidential records and documentation related to background clearancesLearn and apply security protocols and procedures to protect sensitive information and assetsCollaborate with the security team to identify and mitigate potential security risksParticipate in security awareness programs and trainingContribute to the development of standardized process sand procedures for security and complianceAssist in analyzing security-related data and trends Qualifications You are a college junior, senior, or recent graduate majoring in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or related curriculum with a minimum GPA of 3.0Must be authorized to work in the USBasic knowledge (demonstrated experience) in the following programming languages: HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Java Server / Client, C, C++, C#, Java or PythonUnderstanding of software engineering processes, agile framework, tools, methods, test development, algorithms and data structuresDemonstrated ability to learn relevant technologiesRobust communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and problem-solving skillsDrive and eagerness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in previous software engineering internship or projectsPassion for innovative technologies and security/identity related issues

Note: This is a hybrid role, you must be able to travel to the office.
