For more information, visit www.everonsolutions.com or follow us on LinkedIn.    Position Summary:  The Drafter is responsible for working with local sales and design teams to provide drafting of life safety and access control systems.   This position may also focus on fire alarm and/or sprinkler specialization.  (Specific qualifications for fire and sprinkler listed below.)    Responsibilities:     Perform to a professional standard for accurate, neat, error free work, as determined by the department manager  Complete requests in accordance with sound business practices and general corporate policies  Review drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy of work performed  Understand and utilize company-drafting procedures  Promote a team environment, assisting other drafters, designers, engineers with their projects  Create background floor plans in AutoCAD from scanned or hardcopy floor plans Perform takeoff and prepare counts of equipment and devices from floor plans  Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned    Knowledge:    Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers    Skills:     Must possess superior interpersonal skills and be a team player  Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities Excellent teambuilding, customer service, and interpersonal skills  Excellent communications, listening and presentation skills with all levels of the organization.  Be self-motivated and have a professional attitude and demeanor  AutoCAD experience - 1 year    Abilities:     Ability to utilize computer continually throughout the workday.  Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, delays or unexpected events; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation.    Physical Demands:     While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, twist; use hands to handle, push, pull or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to: climbing up or down ladders, occasional lifting up to 50lbs, stairs, scaffolding, ramps and the like; remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods; moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another; moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces; and general office duties including use of a computer  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.    Work Environment:     The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Normal Office Environment.  Must be able to work extended hours to support timelines.    Minimum Qualifications:     Possess a working knowledge of low voltage communications systems  Basic understanding of AutoCAD required  Must demonstrate Computer literacy, including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Outlook    Ability to read and interpret applicable documents, materials, policies, procedures, etc. as presented in English   Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:     Must be working toward, or agree to work towards, or have NICET Certification      Fire Alarm Specific:     Preferred to have NICET Level I in Fire Alarm Systems or Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems      Sprinkler Specific:     Preferred to have NICET Level I in Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Layout
