Security Disaster Recovery Analyst

The Lead Disaster Recovery Analyst (Planning) will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the Open Text Disaster Recovery Program. This individual plays a key role in the continued development and maturity of the Disaster Recovery Assurance Program that supports delivery of services required to provide recoverability assurance for our corporate and commercial systems, platforms, and applications. In this advisory role you will have a primary role in assessing recovery assurance requirements for Cloud service platforms and scoping validation requirements for commercial and corporate systems and commercial solutions (tenants), based on contractual, compliance and maintenance obligations.

 

Your Impact:

 

Your work requires close collaboration with teams across the organization (such as Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Digital – Cloud Ops, Security, IT). Strong communication and partnership skills will be required to engage, organize, plan and deliver services aligned to business requirements, operational priorities, and corporate values.

 

This is an office-based role at OpenText world headquarters in Waterloo, Ontario. You will have standard daytime office hours, however will also be required occasionally to work off-hours, including weekends, to support emergency situations such as disaster declaration and recovery. You will be part of a call tree for these situations and may also be asked to lead and/or oversee DR test exercises if other senior staff are not available, although this will not be your primary role.

 

What the role offers:

 

As a Lead Security Disaster Recovery Analyst you will:

 

· Define and scope DR Assurance Program initiatives to meet business objectives.

· Assign, monitor, and plan tasks for team members related to DR efforts.

· Build and prioritize DR initiatives using risk assessments and business impact analysis.

· Lead DR test exercises and assess recoverability, identifying critical risks and developing remediation plans.

· Conduct DR operational reviews with internal stakeholders and guide recovery strategy development.

· Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to improve disaster recovery capabilities.

 

What you need to succeed:

 

· 8+ years of experience in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, or Security.

· Degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT.

· Strong knowledge of hyperscalers, DevOps, virtualization, and distributed systems; experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

· Proven leadership in navigating complex, stressful projects, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, ValueEdge, and Excel, with experience in project coordination in cross-functional environments.

· Certifications in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, IT, Cyber Security, or Project Management.
