Your Role:

The IR Team Security Engineer will coordinate response efforts and will assist with identifying information security risks and developing recommendations and plans to address those risks. This includes triaging and assessing risk of incidents, performing real-time analysis, managing workload of technical staff and partnering with engineering, development, sales, marketing, and legal teams during investigations.

Your Impact:

Acting as the primary escalation point for security incidents at SolarWinds, developing response plans and coordinating response activities as needed Providing leadership to the information security incident response team around the implementation of the information security and incident response program Developing, integrating, and improving security incident response “playbooks” and documentation for the information security team Designing, documenting, and implementing incident response processes, procedures, guidelines, and solutions. Responsible for technical and executive level reports on incident response issues Researching industry trends, identify ongoing security threats, analyze new security testing tools, and provide recommendations on the need and usefulness of such services and products Leading initiatives focused on process improvement, risk mitigation, and security metric development and reporting Leading incident response exercises from creation, execution, tracking, and documentation Driving improvements in security incident response detection and automation capabilities Triage and assessing security concerns, developing remediation plans, and driving security incidents to resolution Facilitating post incident reviews, documenting root causes, and actively working with impacted teams addressing resolution actions Providing technical leadership on major projects, and upgrades and installations through the delivery of information security projects and initiatives Setting goals and performing employee reviews as part of coaching, teaching, and mentoring junior security operations engineers
