This position is responsible for assisting with the management of the operational, fiscal and personnel activities of the Support Operations department, which includes overseeing the staffing, scheduling, development and day-to-day activities of the Support Operations staff.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
Supervises the weekly scheduling of 1,500-2,500 shifts for the 400 plus Support Operations staffOversees the day-to-day operations, makes daily operating decisions and assigns tasks to the Support Operations staffAssists in the recruitment, interviewing and selection of applicantsDelivers department new hire orientation and completes departmental training and performance appraisals for the Support Operations staffCreates work assignments and schedules that maximize shift production and labor efficiencyManages internal Support Operations procedures for employee skill expansion, transfers and worker profilesPrepares and delivers performance appraisalsConducts event pre-shift meetings for their assigned multiple positionResponsible for submitting an end of event shift report to the Support Operations Manager for their assigned multiple positionSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for shift scheduling including; work assignments, training, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, work trades and shift rotationsDetermines shift operating methods, structures and procedures consistent with goals established by the Support Operations ManagerAssists with resolving employee conflicts and issuesWhen working as a Restaurant Shift Manager – Arena Concessions:
Supervises the Arena Concessions Supervisors and Arena Line Servers during arena eventsResponsible for maintaining an appropriate level of products, beverages, paper, plastic and arena suppliesDevelops monthly planning outlines for each event, which includes products, food, specials and promotionsWorks with the Stewarding and EVS departments to maintain health, safety and sanitation guidelinesResponds to and follows-up with guest issues and special requestsAssists with compiling detailed records of each showEnsures that all alcohol laws and regulations are followed and enforced, including intoxication, underage drinking and refusing of serviceWhen working as a VIP Event Shift Manager:
Supervises the Event Specialist that are assigned to the Arena ClubAdministers and oversees the Arena Club and special event ticket distribution for all eventsEvaluates player gaming levels and decides guest event response and accessManages the guest seating chart for all events based on established criteria and policies and procedures, including special seating and ADA requirementsOrders, distributes and reconciles arena ticket inventory, complimentary beverage coupons and gift giveawaysResponsible for creating and maintaining events in the ACSC, Portal admin panel, Avatar and ticket distribution software systemsMinimum Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalentTwo years of experience in personnel staffing and scheduling, shift supervision and operational planningCompetencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsStrong listening and conflict resolution skillsIntermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and OutlookAbility to develop, coach, counsel and train Event RepresentativesAbility to work with multiple departments and all levels of management to produce efficient labor utilizationThorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employmentTraining Requirements:
Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Supervisor Training classesUnderstanding of the software and systems used by the VIP and Players Club departmentsGood understanding of food products and food preparation and service techniquesIntermediate knowledge of Ascent, Kronos and Manager Self Service systems Knowledge of various department policies and proceduresSMART Alcohol AwarenessPhysical Demands and Work Environment:
