Department OverviewOur customers are public safety agencies, governments and military organizations who use our mission critical communications systems. The Security Update Service team, part of the Motorola Solutions Cybersecurity Services organization, protects mission critical systems by ensuring security updates are verified, tested, and installed.
Job Description

As the Security Governance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and guiding the team which aids in the delivery and support of operating system updates for mission critical systems. The goal is to ensure the systems are protected from cyber threats. The Security Governance Manage will also oversee the day to day operations of the Governance team including establishing and measuring team performance, customer satisfaction, and serves as a technical escalation point. The manager develops, maintains, and implements relevant policies and procedures to protect the security and privacy of information from intentional or unintentional damage. They assist in trouble-shooting technical issues and provide regular status updates of system security. 

Responsibilities: 

Manage the team to ensure successful delivery of Motorola’s cyber security expertise to the customer

Be a liaison and advocate for customers, technical representatives, and more

Establish relationships with stakeholders and maintain positive relationships

Promote innovation and forward thinking throughout the organization

Be a leader in the growth of the SUS team and drive integration of new products 

Adhere to Motorola policies and practices

Ensure all operational documentation and procedures remain up to date and relevant

Desired Skills:

ITIL Foundation Certification or Experienced with ITIL 

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux based operating systems and internal functions

Customer service experience particularly with regards to critical infrastructure

Knowledge of automation solutions and cloud operations (e. g. AWS) experience

Qualifications:

Ability to lead and communicate effectively within a team environment

Must have strong organizational skills

Must demonstrate understanding of operating systems, application level support, virtualization technologies, and networking core concepts 

Demonstrated technical knowledge of modern network security, network hardware, protocols, and standards 

Previous management and leadership experience

In-depth familiarity with security policies based on industry standards and best practices

Management and leadership experience


Basic Requirements

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or Management 

Advance knowledge of modern Network Security, Network Hardware, Protocols, and Standards required.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
