How you can make a difference
Security Guards patrol, inspect, and conduct electronic surveillance of the organization’s property against unauthorized access, fire, theft, vandalism, misuse/abuse, terrorism, and illegal activities. They monitor people and building access in order to deter and prevent crime and promote safety and security.
Shift Details
Full time, M-F 1:00pm-9:00pm with on call (rotations still being determined)Location: Draper Office (121 W Scenic Pointe Dr)What you’ll be doing
Priority is to Protect People, information and facilities Work with Lead Guard to develop goals and objectives to accurately measure and evaluate performanceMonitor S2 access control system alarms and XProtect closed-circuit TV (CCTV) cameras for all sitesTake action on all incidents involving unauthorized access or suspicion thereof and report results of action/investigation. Escalate as appropriateAssist in enabling facility access for employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors (have visitors sign in/out, issue and collect Visitor badges, occasionally escort visitors from one area to another, etc.)Conduct regular patrols and locked door checks, etc., of physical propertyReport patrol findings to appropriate Facilities and/or Security personnelAttend Emergency Response Team (ERT) meetings and participate as active member of ERTUnderstand and comply with all site-specific policies and procedures while providing superior customer serviceMaintain a security log and write comprehensive, detailed reports on what was observed while on duty, what actions were taken and what were the results of those actionsMake decisions in high-stress situations as to what actions should immediately be taken and whom should be notifiedCreate daily “pass-down” reports to synopsize any security incidentsInterview witnesses to security violations/incidentsContact law enforcement authorities (e.g., local police, sheriff) to report crimes when Director of Physical Security is unavailable to do soCarry out the physical security (security risk management) plan for all facilitiesBe observant regarding security and safety issues and pro-actively provide input regarding suggested improvements to Lead Security GuardWhat you will need to be successful
Posses a high school diploma or equivalent, or 3 years verifiable experiencePossess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective mannerValid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying. (Preferred)As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local lawsDriving Positions: must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle requiredEMT and/or CPR certification preferredDisplay exceptional customer service and communication skillsHave intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technologyAbility to handle crisis situations calmly and efficientlyUse a computer for basic emailing, document and spreadsheet creationWork in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heatOccasionally lift or carry up to 40 poundsClimb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shiftStand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time Salary Range $18.27/hr to $24/hr Benefits & PerksThe compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. This position will be eligible for performance-based incentives as part of the total compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits including:
