This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base, NDAA 1125 (a) and (c). About the Position: Serves as a Security Guard, GS-0085-06 with the Joint Munitions Command at Tooele Army Depot, Law Enforcement & Security Division. Responsibilities Guard and patrol, on foot or by vehicle, controlled and limited security areas. Protect persons, property, and security information against hazards such as fire, espionage, trespass, theft, and accidental or willful Ensure buildings are secure and there are no safety or security deficiencies, and initiate the proper action to correct problems. Assist local authorities in the event of an emergency situation by setting up road blocks, investigate accidents, enforce motor vehicle regulations, and direct traffic. Monitor the radio networks, maintain logs of patrol and events happening during shift. Utilize extraordinary security measures and special knowledge and skills to protect arms and ammunition and other materials potentially hazardous to the health and safety of the public. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS- 05 level or equivalent with a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved conducting patrols to identify potential hazards to property and facilities such as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; and control the access of personnel and/or vehicles to the installation or facility. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone.
