Our preferred candidate will have prior experience as a security guard. He or she will have sound judgment, attention to detail, and objectivity while observing others. Although you’ll be working under the direct supervision of a guard supervisor for your assigned shift, we will rely upon you for protection, safeguarding, and security. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Be visible, greeting staff, guests, and vendors in a courteous and attentive manner. + Secure premises and personnel by patrolling the property: monitoring surveillance equipment: permitting entry. + Control traffic by directing drivers. + Respond immediately to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls. + Maintain the company’s reputation with professionalism and legal compliance. + Collaborate with other security guards for effective protection and coverage. + Patrol property on foot, securing personnel, assets, gates, and fence perimeter are secure in all weather conditions. + Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by the corporate policy on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety, and fire incidents. + Control and monitor surveillance equipment and perform building and equipment inspections. + Complete daily reports, including relevant information, observations, surveillance footage, and signatures. **QUALIFICATIONS** To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the potential to be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE** + High school diploma or equivalent + Security-guard certification is preferred + Willingness to learn and enforce safety procedures + Helpful, courteous attitude + Verbal and written communication skills **LANGUAGE SKILLS** Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management and/or public groups. **MATHEMATICAL SKILLS** Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, geometry, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, quadratic equations, and college level algebra. **REASONING ABILITY** Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. **COMPUTER SKILLS** This position requires competent day-to-day use of the following computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Candidate must also show proficiency with computers, and aptitude to learn new software and systems.
