**Description**
Job Description – Security Guard
A security guard's job is to monitor a property for safety and security, and to respond to any emergencies. Security guards are often the first to notice and act on security issues.
Responsibilities
+ **Patrol** : Regularly inspect and patrol the premises
+ **Monitor** : Monitor surveillance cameras, entrances, and exits
+ **Control access** : Authorize who can enter and exit the property
+ **Respond to alarms** : Respond to alarms and other emergencies in a timely manner
+ **Report** : Report any suspicious activity, incidents, or irregularities
+ **Provide assistance** : Assist people in need, provide information, and guide traffic
+ **Secure** : Secure doors, windows, and other entrances
+ **Complete reports** : Document all observations and incidents in reports
+ **Be a deterrent** : Be a visible deterrent to crime and rule infractions
Skills
+ **Communication** : Have excellent communication skills
+ **Proactive** : Be proactive and attentive during working hours
+ **Independent** : Be able to work independently
