Pay Rate: Trainee - $19.27/hr.  (Badged Guard $19.77/hr. after certification and training requirements completed)

Job Summary: The Public Safety Division has an exciting employment opportunity within the Security Department for Guard Trainee.  This position will ensure that Public Safety staff are following and enforcing Park policies, procedures and regulations while engaging using the Mantra: Friendly, Clean, Fast, Safe Service.

Respond to calls for service or assistance – investigate circumstances, report findings.Actively patrol designated areas of responsibility.Communicate information to supervision/management in a clear, timely and productive manner.Being knowledgeable with laws and regulations pertaining to Security and Public Safety.Routinely engage patrons following the Mantra: Friendly, Clean, Fast, Safe Service.Generate accurate, detailed reports regarding observations, apprehensions and detentions.Become knowledgeable in mobile and ped gate operations.Become knowledgeable in the Use of Force & Powers of Arrest criteria from BSIS.Other duties to support the Park at the discretion of Public Safety Supervision/Management.

Must be at least 18 years of age.Must be able to obtain Proprietary Guard Card through BSIS and the State of California.Must possess valid Driver’s license within good standing at all times.Must pass a radio codes exam prior to becoming a Guard Trainee.Must be able to respond, adapt and participate in emergency situations and events.Must have strong self-motivation, work ethic and a positive attitude.Must be able to stand, walk, observe and patrol for extended periods of time.Must be able to safely operate a vehicle and bicycle for patrols for extended periods of time.Must be able to work in direct sunlight, outdoors, in the heat and other environmental elements.Must be able to climb and work at heights including on top of rollercoaster lifts.Must be available to work days, nights, overnight, weekends and holidays.Paid overtime for adults may be required from time to time in order to accommodate business needs.
