JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop and implement security-related programs, plans, policies, and procedures while maintaining integrated systems and processes that eliminate or mitigate vulnerabilities to achieve the lowest reasonable risk levels. As an armed security officer and responder, also supervise uniformed armed security officers during training, security operations, and crises at Corporate in Ohio while auditing, inspecting, and consulting to sustain effective security company-wide in multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces to ensure protection of people and security of things.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Know and follow laws, regulations, etc. that govern corporate security functions and ensure company leaders are aware of and follow parameters that govern corporate security functions; transfer that knowledge into clear and thorough company programs, policies, procedures, etc. and implement to eliminate/reduce risk. Corporate Campus Security – prepare/maintain a thorough corporate risk assessment to inform a layered security plan that deters and detects threats, appropriately denies access and freedom of movement (limits and observes entry and exit routes and points, controls access (e.g., access cards or key control) and movement, integrates people and technology as sensors), delays threats and emerging threats to support a transition to emergency operations, and supports rapid response to protect and defend. Aviation Security Liaison – in consultation with the Aviation Department and company leaders, ensure the company’s aviation building-facilities and assets are secured per federal requirements and support coordination with and controls for the Department of Homeland Security, the Transportation Security Administration, etc. Personnel Security – in consultation with Human Resources, support the background check program and interpretation of reports; evaluate and assess threats (contractors/suppliers, visitors, and employees); and identify and mitigate potentially dangerous conditions. Personal Security – provide and be competent in training uniformed armed security officers to provide individual protection for an employee or a group of employees in a potentially dangerous situation. Emergency Action Planner – lead security emergency prevention while being prepared for and preparing others and sites for emergencies (consult with the Safety Team and leaders to ensure effective, updated emergency action plans with adequate security measures). In-Transit Security Coordinator – in consultation with logistics and operations leaders, ensure information and processes are in place to eliminate or mitigate hazards for traveling employees and materials in transit. Loss Prevention Coordinator – ensure active and reasonable measures across the company to prevent or limit the possibility of theft, fraud, and other preventable losses and ensure a reporting and response structure to ensure loss reporting/monitoring (when appropriate, assist in the safe recovery of losses). Customer Security Contact – coordinate with company leaders and customer security personnel to ensure employee security and compliance onsite while supporting or requiring efforts to secure property on customer sites. First Responder Contact – in consultation with Legal and operations leaders, ensure processes are in place to ensure pre-event coordination and information sharing to facilitate rapid response in the event of an emergency (fire, grand theft, workplace violence threat, etc.) and, when needed, coordinate with local emergency personnel (e.g., law enforcement) post-incident to support verification of a thorough investigation, information sharing, interpretation of findings, etc. Auditor/Inspector – design and implement audit/inspection programs and processes to account for physical security (building-facility, personnel, personal, etc.), response to violence, loss prevention, etc. at distributed locations across the company. Consultant – coordinate with leaders across the company to educate them on security functions with the goal of eliminating or mitigating vulnerabilities at distributed locations across the company. Trainer – teach and coach knowledge, skills, and behaviors that support security program goals and requirements regarding topics like security audits and inspections, physical security (building-facility, personnel, personal, etc.), response to violence (e.g., AVERT), loss prevention, etc. Cyber-Security Support – coordinate with the Chief Technology Officer to support cyber security, specifically hardware security and loss prevention (theft). General Support – due to the nature of the position and role in the Safety and Training Department, serve as a Building-Facility Manager and Coordinator on campus, provide emergency support overall as appropriate, support Safety and Training work and initiatives, and other additional duties as required.
