THE JOB
US Concerts is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager – Venue Security to oversee all security operations to ensure safety and security of guests, employees, artists, and property, while maintaining a customer-focused approach. This role requires excellent people skills, a proactive mindset, and a thorough understanding and adherence to security protocols and licensing requirements as set forth by Live Nation and the State of Virginia.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
Policy Compliance: Collaborate with the General Manager and Operations Manager to ensure adherence to all security policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Access Control: Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other individuals to prevent theft and maintain venue security.
Venue Surveillance: Regularly patrol all areas of the venue to observe, report, and address any irregularities or potential security concerns.
Incident Management: Investigate and resolve security-related complaints, interacting positively with guests to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
Reporting: Document daily activities and incidents, including equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and discipline security personnel to ensure efficient department operations.
Budget & Cost Control: Manage security-related expenses by adhering to the department budget, optimizing resources, and ensuring staffing levels align with operational needs while controlling overtime and unnecessary costs.
Team Collaboration: Conduct regular meetings to communicate pertinent information and provide guidance to staff
Policy Development: Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to security policies and procedures.
Sustainability Participation: Engage in the venue’s sustainability initiatives, such as waste prevention and recycling efforts, and educate guests about these programs.
Event Support: Assist in post-event activities, including the collection of recyclables and proper storage of event equipment.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Required:
At least 2 years of experience in a security management role
In Virginia, security personnel are required to obtain registration from the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) in the unarmed security officer category
Working knowledge of security and safety operations and enforcement procedures in an event setting
Ability to exercise composure and de-escalate stressful situations
Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
High level of judgment, tact, and diplomacy
Ability to work collaboratively and execute programs effectively
Preferred:
Experience performing security management in live events, concerts, or music festivals
Experience managing teams of 40 or more persons
