Role Summary As a Security Manufacturing Engineer II, you will help build and deploy the technology that underpins core features to the vehicle such as OTA Updates, Diagnostics and vehicle access. You will build both tools and systems to ensure security foundations are delivered to our vehicles in the most efficient and effective way. You will help develop processes for commissioning vehicles during the manufacturing process and build the tools and automation to assist other teams to ensure their software is robust for those processes. This role requires someone who can see the complete picture - from low-level firmware to cloud services - and make pragmatic decisions, work with a variety of stakeholders, and drive projects to completion. This role is located at our factory in Normal, IL and reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Security Engineering. Responsibilities Assist in designing, developing, and testing embedded software for automotive systems. Develop with software in both embedded and non-embedded environments. Develop and validate security processes for manufacturing that ensure vehicles and devices are shipped in a functional state Design and maintain security tooling for manufacturing and development, including provisioning equipment and HIL testing Debug issues on vehicle software and hardware, factory equipment, and test systems Qualifications Education - 4-yr degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field Basic knowledge of embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS) Established and demonstrable familiarity with Python and C Some familiarity with automotive networking interfaces and protocols (CAN, UDS, etc.) Understanding of cryptographic principles and secure coding practices. Hands-on experience with debugging tools and software development environments. Knowledge of software version control systems (e.g., Git). Preferred Skills Familiarity with automotive networking standards (e.g., CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet). Experience with tools like CANalyzer, Wireshark, or similar.
