Security Night Watch

As the Nightwatch person, you will play a critical role at one of our Alaskan processing facilities to ensure the safety and security of company property during overnight hours. Your key responsibilities will include securing the premises by locking all gates and doors, closing windows, and ensuring lights are turned off. As the Nightwatch person, you’ll perform routine rounds every two hours across the property to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security concerns. Additionally, the role requires monitoring the temperature of refrigerated vans every two hours to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards for seafood storage. In case of emergencies, the Nightwatch person is responsible for contacting emergency services (911) and providing clear communication of the situation. Furthermore, the role involves monitoring company bunkhouses to ensure there are no illegal or prohibited activities occurring, contributing to a safe and compliant working environment. 

Essential Functions/Qualifications  

The responsibilities of the position include the following:  

Ensure company property is secured: all gates and doors are locked; windows are closed and lights are off.  Perform rounds on property every two hours to prevent intruding.  Call 911 in case of emergency.  Check the temperature of Vans every two hours.  Report to management all issues and hazardous situations.  Ensure there are no illegal or prohibited activities in company bunkhouses.

Education and Experience  

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required. 1-3 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Work Environment and Schedule   

Position requires onsite presence at our Alaska Processing Facility, and the ability to travel, spending a significant amount of time during the season at our various locations and processing facilities in Alaska.  The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.   

Physical Demands   

This role is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employees are frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
