You’ll patrol UPMC hospitals, buildings, and grounds to deter criminal activity and ensure a secure environment. Your responsibilities will include monitoring security, fire, and environmental alarms, responding to any issues or disputes, and providing excellent customer service. You’ll also document activities and incidents and work closely with UPMC Police Officers or other law enforcement when needed. Responsibilities:

Establish a uniformed security presence by patrolling UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds, and associated areas to deter criminal activity Document activities and contact other appropriate law enforcement when necessary Respond to and resolve problems, disputes, and unusual circumstances as necessary Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff to maintain a safe and secure environment Report and document incidents, suspicious activities, and hazards Monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms; respond to alarms and assist when needed Staff fixed posts to monitor ingress and egress to secured areas Conduct patient escorts and stand-by details Assist with traffic control and vehicle assists Transport deceased to morgue/release bodies from morgue Operate UPMC vehicles in accordance with the rules and regulations of all applicable state and local motor vehicle laws Maintain required certifications and licensing Complete all mandatory training programs per departmental guidelines Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels as necessary to prevent theft Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors Perform other duties as assigned
