POSITION SUMMARY:
The Security Officer protects the company’s tangible and intangible assets. They access control is the highest responsibility. To accomplish this, a variety of shifts assignments, extended hours weekends and holiday’s will need to be worked. They perform patrol rounds, monitoring CCTV and radio channels are required. All officers must pass a drug screening, and present and maintain a well groomed, professional image in compliance with the departments regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Monitors CCTV equipment.
Monitors and responds to radio channels.
Finds and documents security, fire and safety violations.
Provides emergency support i.e. CPR, first aid and industrial injury care.
Performs patrol rounds, requiring walking for long periods of time.
Stands in confined areas for long periods of time.
Remains conversant with procedures for the security post assigned.
Disarms and arms security systems.
Unlocks and locks secured areas as needed.
ALL OTHERS DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
Must be 21 years of age.
Must qualify to drive company vehicles with clean driving record.

Sound judgment in emergency situations
On time and dependable; adequate report writing ability; and must be able to read, interpret and apply security and emergency procedures without close supervision.
Will be responsible for learning the Security Officer Training Matrix which includes the following topics: SPC security philosophy; facility familiarization; security officers legal authority; report writing; search and seizure rules; laws of evidence; SPC alarm systems; emergency evacuation procedures; ethics and professionalism; communication techniques; first aid and CPR certification; and continuing monthly education provided by Professional Security Training Network (PSTN)
It is recommended the security also receive training in: violence in the workplace; sexual harassment; effective listening; and working in teams

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50lbs, etc.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
