JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: 430 Security Officer
Department: 8420 Security
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous security, law enforcement or military experience preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and must successfully complete state approved basic law enforcement training academy within one (1) year of hire or when such academy classes are available. Must pass Pre-Hospital Functional Screening. Must be able to read, write, and understand written and verbal communication. Basic computer skills.
Preferences:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Ensures adequate and timely response to calls for assistance from any source.
• Effectively patrols and monitors all areas of medical center.
• Enforces all rules, policies and regulations.
• Effectively and consistently monitors all medical center parking areas.
• Must successfully complete curriculum of state approved Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy consisting of the following:
Must successfully complete 300 plus hours of classroom curriculum as set forth by MS State Board of Minimum Standards and Training.
Classroom Curriculum consists of but not limited to:
MS State Laws and Statutes
Officer Survival (Hand to Hand Combat/Defensive Techniques)
Firearms Training
Active Shooter Training
Defensive Driving Techniques
