**Join our team! Laredo Medical Center is now hiring a full-time Security Officer to work at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Read a full position description below.**
Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
Formulates, develops, and coordinates all safety and loss control functions of the organization. Designs and directs a program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards through safety-training of all managers, planned inspections, skill training, first-aid care, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, new employee indoctrination, physical protection, planned job observation, rules and practices, job analysis/procedures, disposal procedures, and protective equipment. Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. Responsible for identifying causes of past accidents. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. The Security Officer reports to the Security Director however, he/she may receive work direction from the Security Supervisor.
Applicants Job Requirements Include:
**_Education_**
+ **Required:** High school graduate or equivalent or at least six (6) months of experience.
**_Licenses/Certifications_**
+ **Required:** Must have a valid Texas Driver's license.
+ **Required:** Position requirestraining in Level 1, 2, or 3 Security training required by Texas Commission of Private Security.
+ **Required:** Must be licensed by the Private Security Bureau within 120 days of employment.
**_Experience_**
+ **Required:** Dependable person with strong interpersonal telephone and communication skills.
+ **Preferred:** Bilingual in Spanish and English.
