Position Statement

\n

A Security Officer maintains the order and security of the hotel, its guests and team members.

\n

What will I be doing?  

\n

As the Security Officer, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nMaintain the order and safety of the hotel.\nOffer necessary assistance to guests.\nConduct regular safety patrol, acting and reporting appropriately upon discovering any potential hazards.\nTake good care of communication facilities and skillfully operate all fire control equipment.\nReport, examine and monitor with professionalism once suspicious personnel or articles are discovered, keeping a record of these incidents as well.\n\n

Security Officer working at staff entrance should do as follows:

\n\nEnsure that the external visitor is registered correctly.\nBe hospitable to visitors and report any suspicions to the Management.\nConduct random bag inspections of team members entering and leaving the building, ensuring that the Asset Removal Policy is adhered to.\nPrevent any flammable or explosive items, corrosives, drugs, hazardous tools, liquor or items labelled identically as the hotel’s property from being brought into the hotel.\nIdentically labelled items or items with the same brand as the hotel’s property, to be detained and recorded with the name and employee number of the staff involved.\nPrevent hotel’s property from being removed without an authorized and signed property removal form.\nWrite-off the approved property removal form once lent-out articles are returned.\nImplement payment for damaged items and provide the invoice for the purchase or refund.\nKeep the deposited keys in good condition and fulfill the key-lent procedure.\nMaintain workplace cleanliness.\n\n

Security Officer working at the hotel lobby should do as follows:

\n\nFamiliarize with all restaurants, locations and their operation times in order to direct guests to the most convenient route to their destinations.\nTake the initiative to usher guests into available elevators and assist with the selection of levels.\nSpecially assist elderly, children and those needs special attention.\nBe alert of drunkards, the incapacitated and the people who accompany them.\nBe vigilant on movements around the hotel and prevent illegal activities from taking place.\nWhen suspicious people enter the elevator, promptly inform CCTV and relevant departments to pay attention, preventing unauthorized visitors from entering the rooms.\nMake sure all commercial photography carried out in the hotel’s premises have clearance from the hotel’s Marketing Communications department, otherwise, direct them to the relevant department.\nInform the Duty Manager and Front Office team members to register with the Housekeeping department if guests’ belongings are found.\nDissuade guests from carrying hotel property to prevent the loss of goods in public areas.\nPay special attention to visitors who acted suspiciously\n\n

Security Officer should do as follows in patrolling:

\n\nUpon receiving the patrol route and schedule, patrol area, paying attention to personnel, hotel equipment, and fire safety facilities.\nReport all potential threats or discrepancies.\nInspect the key parts of the machine room, distribution room, kitchen, windpipe / water pipe, storages, fire control corridor, escape indicator in the public area and firefighting equipment.\nCheck and ensure that the backend office door is locked after team members have left.\nInspect the locker room and team members’ restrooms, prohibiting noise, gambling, smoking, storage of inflammable, explosive goods and anything that releases strong odors.\nEffectively manage issues encountered during duty and report to the duty supervisor or Assistant Safety & Security Manager promptly when needed.\nBe responsible to check fire facilities, fire security and manage the fire alarm.\nBe familiar with first aid and fire emergency procedures.\nCarry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.\n

\n\n\n\tHigh School or Secondary Vocational School graduate.\n\tHolds a valid Security Officer License by Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD)\n\tProficient with hotel security operations.\n\tPossess a strong sense of responsibility and service.\n\tGood work attitude and always alert.\n\tAble to communicate effectively and clearly.\n\tKnowledgeable of resources and utilize them efficiently.\n\tBasic PC knowledge in MS Word and Excel.\n\n\n
