This highly visible position involves patrolling the campus during evening and night hours, ensuring the safety of our community. Opportunities to Contribute + Patrols buildings and grounds on foot and by motor vehicle, looking for suspicious activity, unlocked doors, fires, and vandalism. + Acts as a deterrent to criminal activity through presence. + Makes decisions and applies discretion on security issues and criminal reporting more frequently during non-business hours due to less managerial oversight. + Provides “on-site” security within specific buildings, such as libraries, athletic facilities, and research laboratories. + Remains more alert for hazards and security threats due to conditions of darkness. + Provides information to visitors, students, and employees or directs such inquiries to appropriate personnel. Minimum Required Qualifications + High School graduation or equivalent Required Licenses and Certifications + Ability to obtain State of Texas class “C” vehicle operator’s license within 30 days of employment. Failure to obtain or maintain State of Texas class “C” vehicle operator’s license may result in termination A well-qualified candidate will also possess + Customer service skills + Ability to work with reduced levels of managerial oversight + Ability to communicate effectively with all segments of the campus population What You Need to Know Salary: $19.06/hour. Schedule/Location: Located in Round Rock, Texas, this position requires work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends and holidays with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:30pm.
